What is Flavay®?

Flavay® is more than a single nutrient. It is a very specific, standardized and isolated, complex of small-cluster (oligomeric) proanthocyanidin molecules defined and perfected by Dr. Jack Masquelier in France; validated by the French Ministry of Health and documented by a library of research consisting of many patents and hundreds of scientific papers, articles, doctorate theses, lectures and presentations. Flavay® is not a simple bioflavonoid (this is important because many are non-bioavailable or even toxic). Flavay® is a highly specialized, nutritional complex of pairs and triples of a specific molecule called "flavan-3-ol," isolated from natural extracts, that has been extensively tested and examined clinically for biological antioxidant protection, collagen strengthening, tissue rebuilding, and other health producing outcomes. This highly defined, polyphenol complex is proven fully bioavailable, safe and effective by numerous human studies, manufactured in France and used worldwide since 1950. (2,3)

Proanthocyanidin clusters must have a certain molecular size to be effective.

Oligomeric (small-cluster) proanthocyanidins (OPCs) are organic clusters of dimers (2), trimers (3), tetramers (4) and pentamers (5)—and no larger. (Larger clusters are non-nutritive: cannot pass the intestinal tract into the blood and too large to fit between collagen fibrils, and therefore unable to repair decayed collagen.) Dr. Masquelier received several patents for the commercial extraction and isolation of OPCs from pine bark and grape seeds. Free Radicals: Both Foe and Friend

Contemporary scientific studies in neurology and immunology have demonstrated that the body's own immune system has the ability to damage healthy cells. When the body's immune system mobilizes, our cells produce by-products called oxygen free radicals, like pellets of poison, that go to work to destroy invaders by interfering with their cellular machinery, literally dissolving or breaking down the genetic material of bacteria, toxins, and viruses.
